The Ramblings of A Nigerian Mom

Yes, my little one -D2 had a dream. (Will get round to sharing big bro's many dreams anytime soon). But you know there are dreams, and there are dreams. I'm talking here about the dream that comes from snuggling in a comfy bed and drifting off into wonder land, you know. So my mighty 3yr old boy has been dreaming much of late. And his latest dream consists basically of one activity. Football. You guessed right...he apparently extends his playtime into wonderland.

  On our way home from work + kids' school yesterday evening, we had to stop at a traffic light. A common sight at these places are the young + old men / women loitering or patiently waiting on the sidelines, all their senses alert for  the right opportunity to move in and  ply their trades between the long train of cars waiting for their cues to move. 

After a sumptuous meal of..you don't want to know the details..last night, I had to sit back to allow the mountain be turned to valley in my tummy before turning in for the night with my 'souljas'. In their usual fashion, anytime the inverter (no thanks to PHCN) is on, the boys would start looking around for the remote control. Next thing I heard was.."mummy, please I want to watch cartoon, change it to cartoon". It was actually one of my lucky days when my three year old was in the right frame of mind to be courteous. Usually it's "mummy, change it to Cartoon Network" Lucky chaps..in my days, cartoons? That's for another day. Well, this time, they had their way and we settled down to watch Little Einsteins on Disney Junior. Three –month old baby, five others abducted in Delta Six members of a family, including a three-month-old baby were at the weekend kidnapped by armed men in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State. It was gathered that the victims were abducted while leaving their home located around Oru Standard Hotel, Jakpa Road, on Saturday afternoon, in a Honda CRV Sport Utility Vehicle. The three children (aged two, four and 14 years) were later abandoned in a nearby bush in Ughelli area of the state. The release reportedly followed persistent wailing by the two-year-old. The whereabouts of the three month-old baby, her mother and another victim, said to be related to the family, remained unknown at the time of this report on Monday afternoon.
