It couldn't possibly get worse until some young school girls went reportedly missing afterwards in a school in Borno State. More than 200 kids, still not reunited with their sad and anxious parents till today. We all kno

Happy Easter, Friends

Image source This is a very quick one to wish you all a very happy Easter holiday / celebration. How did you celebrate it if you did? (Or how are you celebrating?) I understand some don't believe or celebrate it, while it's a ritual for some; I however wish everyone a very lovely weekend. Remember: Greater love hath no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends -John 15:13) May the power of resurrection revive every good thing that has hitherto died in our lives. May this nation begin  to experience great peace and may there be an end to devastation, chaos, deaths and destruction. May our hearts and homes experience joy and peace like never before. Hugs, Abiola.

A Story of Love For You...(II)

Once upon a time...time time... there were thirteen friends who walked the surface of the earth.

RED ALERT...

I'm re-posting this from Stella Dimokorkus' blog. I stumbled on it and I just couldn't pass without doing something about it. It particularly bothered me enough to re-post because of discussions I've been having with my siblings abroad lately. You see, they are interested in investing in the country and somebody (an agent) brought a 'ridiculous-too-good-to-be-true' deal. I was just cautioning one of them lately to exercise a bit of restraint particularly regarding land purchase because the rate of evil being perpetrated on a daily basis in this land is better imagined. Please read, pass on and stay safe.

Blissful Innocence

On our way home from work + kids' school yesterday evening, we had to stop at a traffic light. A common sight at these places are the young + old men / women loitering or patiently waiting on the sidelines, all their senses alert for  the right opportunity to move in and  ply their trades between the long train of cars waiting for their cues to move.

How Short Can Life Get?

Just yesterday, the rate at which bleak and bleary news kept fleeting by left me woozed . You know, every time I checked the news, it just kept getting badder and badder ...this post is really going to be full of a couple of unconventional words without abode in the dictionary. Bomb blasts...bloody news...beheading...shooting...

Place of Rest or Sleep?

Image source   A place of rest. A haven of spiritual recharging. You know like when my spiritual battery is down, I just plonk my bum on a comfy pew and plug in and voila, battery is 100% charged again. That's how I view the church. But I have discovered a contrary view of the church as a place of total, absolute rest. Consistently. Sunday after sunday. I look around me and all I see are heads slanted differently, eyes half-closed, semi-closed and fully closed in the throes of sweet rest.
